REQUIREMENTS

 

Cagliero Volunteers

  • At least 20 years old
  • Good physical health
  • Good mental health
  • Suitable skills
  • Basic language skills of intended mission area
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or resident
  • Attendance in formation and debriefing
  • Individuals prepared to embrace living in a spiritual community
  • Interest and experience in field of service

 

FORMATION

 

The purpose of the formation is to prepare our volunteers for their experience. Upon acceptance, our volunteers attend a formation retreat prior to departure. The purpose of the formation program is to focus on cross cultural and Salesian formation. At the end of the retreat there is a commissioning ceremony. After our volunteers have left for their placements they are required to keep in touch with the Director of the Cagliero Project via email and phone. The Director supports the volunteers while overseas and continues with formation. Upon arriving home to Australia the volunteers attend a series of debriefing sessions to help settle back into life.

 

APPLICATION PROCESS

 

  • Contact Us for an application form
  • Applications will be accepted until April 15th for a June 2012 departure.  Applications will be accepted until October 15th for a 2013 departure.
  • After your application has been reviewed you will be contacted for an interview
  • Acceptance letters will be sent within two week of your interview
  • The formation program will be held from June 8th - 11th, 2012
  • Volunteers depart the week following the formation program

Please note the earlier you start the above process the better it is for obtaining visas and organising travel.  You do not need to wait until the above dates to submit your application.  These are simply the very FINAL dates that we will process applications.
